A quiet return
to the waterways.
After our home in the UK flooded, leaving us with more than £250,000 of reinstatement work, we returned to France in July for a shorter season. Maria carried us from Auxonne through Brazey-en-Plaine to Dijon, then along the Canal de Bourgogne through Fleurey-sur-Ouche and Bussière.
We returned to Auxonne in September after 94½ cruising hours and 142 locks.

A stop in Dijon
A meal we still
talk about.
Dijon provided one of those stops that became memorable for reasons that had nothing to do with navigation. We went ashore for dinner and found a meal we still talk about.

Back aboard later, Oscar resumed guard duty and Maria was home again.
