Life aboard

Home, wherever we tie up.

City or village, river or canal — the view changes, but our home comes with us.

Mike, Kaz and Maria

The rituals of a day, carried from place to place.

We’re Mike and Karen — Kaz to friends — and Maria has been in our care since 2019. She is our home, not simply a boat for holidays.

The deck is our dining room, sitting room and place to watch a town or landscape go by. Some days are all ropes, locks and miles; others are made for staying put.

Below deck

A proper home inside.

Warm timber, books, a dining table and a working kitchen make the saloon feel settled rather than temporary. The view changes; the familiar room travels with us.

Rooms that travel

The spaces become ours.

A quiet corner with a book, or supper set out on deck: ordinary comforts are what make Maria feel like home.

Part of the crew

And, of course, Oscar.

Oscar is part of every journey and very much part of Maria’s family. Life aboard would not feel the same without him.
